| My nephew Amen, who is studying in Pennsyvania, came down
to Orlando for his winter holidays. We took a trip down to the Florida
Keys where I had a suite booked at the Buccaneer Resort in the middle of
the Keys, about 48 miles from Key West. |
| On the way to the Keys, we stopped for one night in South Miami Beach. It was Christmas Day. As we were driving around downtown Miami, I noticed many people heading to one location. We found parking with difficulty and decided to check out what was going on. We happened upon quite a party right by the water-front. There was a stage setup, where various bands were playing, each about 45 minutes to an hour. The crowd included many families with little kids. The music ranged from Latino to Caribbean, from Salsa to Motown. There were many people dancing in front and to the sides of the stage. In the back of the stage was the water, with many boats. Some of the boats were decorated with lights, which reflected off the water as it grew dark, providing a very beautiful backdrop to the music. |

One of attractions of Key West are its many interesting stores

On the way back, we stopped to take an airboat tour of the
everglades. Note how the driver is trying to entice a bird with a marshmallow in
his mouth. Also try and locate a small alligator in one of the photos.
