On some of the evenings of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, they have, what's called, a "Glowdeo". What that means is that the balloons are inflated after the sun sets. However, since it's too dangerous to fly the balloons at night, they do not lift off. Instead, they remain tethered to the ground. The crew of the balloon fires the burners from time to time to make it glow. It is an awesome sight. Unfortunately, it is hard to catch the effect in pictures. It is also hard to time it just right to catch the photo when the balloon is glowing.
